In 2021 Foresight inaugurated its first Youth Summer Camp. Blind and visually impaired students participated in a variety of summer recreational sports over two days in June and July such as: paddle boarding, hiking, fly fishing, archery, and rock climbing and I must say, all participants met the challenge. It was a lot of fun and I was fortunate to be a part of this new program.
Little did I realize those 24 years ago that I would still be volunteering and a part of this great program. I’ve gotten to know a lot of very interesting and diverse people through Foresight and have built some wonderful relationships with our VIPs, guides and shadows through these many years. This program allows persons who are visually impaired or blind the same opportunities as sighted individuals to enjoy the great outdoors through recreational sports, developing skills they didn’t know they had and I wouldn’t miss a moment sharing the experience.
