Canes, Tails & Trails… a Fundraiser Walk for Access & Adventure

What an amazing gathering we had on May 30 for our first-ever Canes, Tails & Trails fundraiser walk!

Walkers of all ages—many joined by their furry friends—gathered at Cherry Creek State Park for a morning of connection, movement and purpose. Together with our partner, Aftersight, we welcomed individuals who are blind or low vision, their families, friends, outdoor enthusiasts and animal lovers for a truly memorable morning.

But Canes, Tails & Trails was about more than just raising money. It was an opportunity to expand our community, make new connections and bring people together around a shared belief in accessibility, adventure and the power of community.

Proceeds from the event benefit both Foresight and Aftersight, a Colorado nonprofit that provides accessible audio content, white canes and inclusive experiences for individuals with vision loss. Together, our organizations are working to create greater access, connection and opportunity for individuals who are blind or low vision.

It was a wonderful day filled with friendship, laughter and gratitude. We are so thankful to everyone who walked, supported and helped make our inaugural event such a success.

Ski Event with Foresight and Snobahn Action Sports Centers – A Success!

What a great couple of events we had in October at SnoBahn Action Sports Center in Centennial and Thornton, Colorado.

Thank you to all who attended. Everyone seemed to have a great time!

There were skiers and a few snowboarders trying out the indoor slope. Some folks had never been on skis or a snowboard before, others hadn’t been skiing or snowboarding since losing their sight. They were pleasantly surprised to learn that they picked right back up where they left off.

Beginners discovered that they really enjoyed skiing and want to do more. Some even thought they might return to SnoBahn to take a few lessons and improve their skills before coming to Vail to ski with Foresight. We hope they do! And as one of our guides, Katy, discovered, just because you know how to ski doesn’t mean the indoor slope is easy. The slope got the best of her at one point! But she was still all smiles and laughter.

First Tracks with Foresight Fundraiser Wrap Up

Our inaugural First Tracks fundraiser at Beaver Creek Resort was great fun! About 40 people participated and experienced some amazing skiing conditions. Breakfast was delicious, conversation was robust and Erik Weihenmayer’s presentation to the group was a tear-jerker.
