Russell Parker

Russell fell in love with skiing in high school when he learned to ski at Wolf Creek in Colorado. He received a scholarship to study in Germany his senior year. As an exchange student, his host family took him to Austria for two weeks where he vastly improved his skiing abilities.

In college, Russell and friends skied regularly (even skiing and surfing on the same day), and for Spring Break his junior and senior years, he and his friends embarked on the “4-Corner Drill” where they skied Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and (attempted) Arizona. This led to his desire to be a ski bum. After graduation (much to his father’s chagrin) he moved to Colorado and worked at Breckenridge.

With plenty of native Colorado friends who pushed him to his limits, Russell embraced the beauty of skiing all over Colorado and the West. He’s worked to impart this love of skiing on his wife and three kids.

In 2021, Russell decided to begin volunteering with Foresight and truly loves sharing his passion for skiing with those experiencing vision loss. “The reward we get from the VIP’s learning to love skiing as much as we do, makes this an amazing organization to be a part of.”

As an avid enthusiast of all things Colorado, he enjoys Foresight’s Summer Camp for Blind Youth almost as much as shadowing and guiding in the winter.

When not enjoying all the wonders Colorado has to offer, Russell works in the technology sector – helping guide customers on how to derive value from their technology investments.
