Now we turn our attention to ski season. Last year was a fantastic year. We had 44 youth come ski or snowboard on seven different school trips. Several returned with family members for additional ski days with Foresight. Twenty-two adult Visually Impaired Participants (VIPs) hit the slopes with us, some came up multiple times. In February and March we had VIPs on the hill nearly every single day! We welcomed back old friends who we haven’t seen since 2019 and met new friends who we hope will be back in 2024. 2023 was the busiest ski season since I started with Foresight in 2019. I hope we are even busier this season.
I want to shout out to our amazing team of volunteers. We would not be able to do what we do at Foresight if it wasn’t for our incredible volunteers. Each one gives so selflessly of themselves, spending time away from their own families to be with their Foresight family. Taking time off work to help a blind or low vision child learn to ski or snowboard or reminding a visually impaired adult that just because they are losing their sight it doesn’t mean they are losing their life. Thank you, volunteers, for choosing to give back to Foresight. I am deeply appreciative of each and every one you.
